The sun peeks over the mountain to our east; the heavy fog begins to lift off of the vineyard and nearby pasture. The brisk morning air helps rouse your senses early in the morning as a crew of invited harvesters starts to assemble on the winery’s crush pad. As everyone greets one another the excitement for this year’s harvest is almost palpable. There are smiles on everyone’s face as we prepare to experience a unique and joyous camaraderie that only harvest can produce.
Fariss Farms will harvest nearly 36,000 pounds of fruit over the course of 5 harvest (Chardonnay, Vidal Blanc, Riesling, Cabernet Franc & Chambourcin). 2016 represents progress on the farm as Iron Heart Winery will begin processing the fruit on-site!
